Who Controls Education? The Battle for America’s Schools – Clear Sightings with Lynne Taylor

In this interview, Lynne Taylor examines the ongoing battle over federal control of American education. She argues that simply dismantling the U.S. Department of Education does not eliminate federal influence, because the funding, programs and legal mandates can remain in place or be transferred to other agencies. Taylor explains what she believes is necessary to restore meaningful state and local control—including repealing federal mandates—and urges parents and citizens to look beyond political headlines and examine what legislation actually does.

While these 2 bills appear to be the ‘final death blow’ to the US Dept. of Education, I have researched each, as all the other ‘death blow’ bills to the Department, over the years.

Not one of them has the real teeth needed.

I’ll discuss how these bills are duds, how the most current bills could be more about midterm power grabs than really returning a Constitution based approach to education.
