15 May Shoshone County Sheriff Medically Neglect Inmate Who Dies – The Whalen Report
“As far as I’m concerned, they allowed him to die in that jail cell.”
On November 7, 2024, 44-year-old Logan Michael Galloway died at the Shoshone County Jail — six hours after jail staff were told by Dr. Scott Gibbs he needed to be taken to the hospital immediately.
According to the internal investigation, jail staff delayed his transfer while debating whether he was “faking.” By the time an ambulance arrived, Logan went unresponsive and died of a pulmonary embolism — a treatable condition.
In our latest interview, Latisha Geldreich, Logan’s cousin, speaks about how the family learned of his death through Facebook before the Sheriff’s Office even called.
The Kootenai County criminal review found no charges for jail staff.
