This week Dave discusses the tactics used by regional planners to manufacture consensus in order to take away your land and property rights. Dave explains how the use of facilitators and stakeholders and variations of the “Delphi Technique” draw residents into an imaginary Hegelian policy environment through the use of tactics such as “visioning sessions” or “public input” in which a predefined conclusion has already been decided! However, this “public buy-in” phase is also their Achilles heel.
